MOLD IN YOUR CAR, TRUCK, RV, BOAT?

Picture of mold growing in a car. Mold can grow in cars, trucks, RV's, motor homes, boats, airplanes, and buildings. Does your car stink when you turn the air conditioner or heater on? It might be full of mold. AMI performs mold testing on all vehicles in Los Angeles California
Can Mold In Your Vehicle
Cause Fungal Infections?

Yes. Have you ever turned your vehicle's air conditioner or heater and smelled mold? Or jumped in your boat or motor home after its been closed up for a while and noticed a repugnant odor? Our cars, trucks, SUVs, RV's, motor homes, boats, and airplanes can all be a source for exposure to high levels of airborne mold spores.

If you live or work in a moldy building, mold spores that cling to your clothing often end up in your car's air conditioner or heater. Water-damaged vehicles and even vehicles that have been cleaned but the upholstery or carpets have not been dried properly can all be infested with mold.

MOLD IN HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING VENTS

Mold grows in dust commonly found in HVAC duct work in residential and commercial properties in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. Call 1-800-369-8532 for a quote on mold testing for your HVAC systems.

Can air ducts become contaminated with mold?

Yes. Dusty HVAC ductwork provides an ideal environment for mold and other allergens to grow in. Air duct systems may be constructed of bare sheet metal, sheet metal with fibrous glass insulation on the exterior, or sheet metal with an internal fibrous glass insulation. Bare sheet metal systems and sheet metal systems wrapped in fibrous glass insulation can be cleaned and disinfected. If ductwork made of sheet metal with internal fibrous glass liner or ductwork made entirely of fibrous glass becomes water damage or mold growth occurs, replacement may be necessary.

SERVICE LIMITATIONS
At AMI, our services are deliberately limited to inspections, testing and reporting. It is our strong conviction that environmental inspectors should not profit from problems they discover in the course of their investigations. For that reason, we are purposely not engaged in the business of abatement or remediation. As an AMI client you can be confident knowing that our evaluations of your property are unbiased, factual and not motivated by the potential of securing costly abatement contracts.

AMI Client Testimonials

I found AMI on the internet. Their website was very informative and I was able to email them a request for an inspection of my house and they got back to me the next day, which by the way was a Sunday! They came and inspected the house the next day. Lab results came back within the time frame they gave me. They were very knowledgeable and courteous. We were very pleased with their service.

D. Burke, Rancho Mirage, Ca

I found surface mold in my home and immediately panicked. Initially, I contacted a company that came in, “looked,” threatened that it was probably toxic mold and told us that they needed to start tearing our house apart. The man doing the inspection said that he had no idea how much mold we had and said that the only way to determine that would be to start tearing down walls and tracing it. He was quick to say that they would tear down as much as was needed to be torn down and that they would remodel it all. He scared us out of our wits. We packed up our children and left the house. I was so scared I went into panic mode and was not thoroughly thinking things through.

The next morning, I decided that I should get a few more opinions. I contacted Bill from AMI. He was a breath of fresh air. He spoke with me on the phone and explained about mold and mold testing. He taught me why it is good to have a mold test before tearing down your house. He took much more time than he needed to help me calm down and relax. I learned that AMI is a neutral party. They come in and test for mold. They do not remodel and they do not do remediation. So, he was not trying to encourage me to tear down, remediate and remodel. He was helping me to fact find. He was factual, informative, compassionate and did the job immediately.

Bill sent one of his guys out to our house that same day and the testing was complete. The AMI tester was also thorough, kind and provided a lot of information. He too, spent more time with me than he needed to explaining and reasoning. AMI worked with me to make decisions upon which testing was necessary and went above and beyond to try to make it affordable while being effective. I received results within days. Luckily, the numbers were not too high. Bill explained that we had “common” mold not “toxic” mold and told me that it was fine to go on living in our home. He referred me to another company for remediation. The remediation company that he recommended was also wonderful (Ekwall Company). Thankfully, we found that we did not have mold in our walls. We had surface mold from time to time due to environmental moisture. This was something that we could help to control. Remediation was not necessary.

I would recommend AMI over and over again. From my experience, I would say that the company is built on honesty, integrity and understanding. Thankfully I found AMI. And, thankfully, Bill is the type of person who runs a legitimate company based on values.

M. Santos, La Mesa, CA

My wife and I wish to thank you for the professional manner in which you conducted yourself throughout the mold inspection and testing process of our home. From the beginning, you immediately answered all my telephone calls and questions. In addition, you inspected our home on less than 24 hours notice and your inspection report was sent to us within the expedited 24 hour period as promised. We thank you for taking the time to explain your findings and we would heartily recommend that others use your services.

Thanks again, the Fraher family

I wanted to thank you for your help. It is rather stressful to buy a new home --then after the fact-- find out that there is water damage to our home and (gasp) the possibility of mold. I was a bit of a skeptic about the tests and I was not sure what your services would do for us. However, now I realize that having our home tested eased many fears and allowed us to isolate a possible mold problem. Luckily, it is not as detrimental as what I had imagined it to be and worth the peace of mind to have our house tested for mold. Your analyses of the outside of our home and recommendation that we adjust our sprinkler system from over watering was really beneficial in reducing moisture from hitting our home. I had no idea we were causing a mold problem indoors by over watering our lawn. You are extremely nice and personable. I felt comfortable with you in our home and we don't normally trust many people coming in our home. I again appreciate your help and services.

Regards,
E. Garcia, Beverly Hills, CA

I’m an active real estate agent in San Diego County and have used AMI many times in the last several years. Their inspections and testing have assisted my clients greatly and have helped provide additional information regarding various properties. In several instances, AMI has identified problem areas that the general home inspectors missed. As a result, I have found their services to be vital in a comprehensive evaluation of a property.

AMI inspector's calm and levelheaded approach are very helpful when encountering circumstances that can be stressful. Their integrity is evident in every phase of the inspection process. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can provide any further insight.

Debbi Houshar, Realtor®

I never expected to need a mold inspection for a house in such a dry place as Palm Springs, but a leaking hot water heater made it necessary. I called AMI at random out of the phone directory and AMI promptly answered my message. Since I had never had a mold problem before, they spent a great deal of time with me on the phone, making sure all my questions were answered and my concerns addressed. They clearly and patiently explained to me what they thought I would need to have done. We arranged for an inspection two days later and I received their report after the weekend. I have found dealing with AMI, and Bill McLeod in particular, to be a pleasant and beneficial experience.

J. Holleran, San Diego, CA

I have had the pleasure of working with AMI Environmental Testing Company for approximately one year. In all my dealings, AMI has been extremely proficient and very professional. They are knowledgeable in their field of expertise and it shows in their reports. We at Clean Earth are very pleased to be associated with AMI and highly recommend their services.

Paul Sukatski, Clean Earth Carpet & Flood Service

One of the best and smartest things I have ever done is hire AMI to perform a mold inspection. About a month ago, I was in the inspection stage of buying my first home and I thought it prudent to have a certified mold inspector look at my house as some mold had already been detected by myself in an independent inspection. I went on the internet and found AMI and called and spoke with Bill. He spent over 30 minutes on the phone with me explaining the benefits of a mold inspection as well as the different things to look for, etc. He was extremely knowledgeable yet explained everything so that I could understand and was very kind and listened well. I felt very comfortable with him and appreciated the fact that his company does not perform remediation tasks, just inspections, as they feel it is a conflict of interest. I set up a time to meet him at my prospective new house and he performed a thorough inspection, took samples and turned around a report in 48 hours. I am very glad I got the inspection because it uncovered a serious mold problem that the sellers failed to disclose. If I had not had the inspection, I would be faced with serious problems today. Nobody should buy a house without a mold inspection performed by AMI. I am living proof that it saved me thousands of dollars in mold remediation. If you would like a personal referral, feel free to call me at 714-545-1500 714-545-1500

Erin K. Baldwin, President
Baldwin Business Consulting

I was in escrow on a house in June, 2005, and the contingency period was extremely short. My husband had to go out of town at the last moment, and I was left with all the inspections to get taken care of. I only had five days (two of which were Saturday and Sunday).

I found AMI online and called Bill. I told him my circumstance of running out of time and he was very professional and came out to do the mold inspection the very next day - he drove from San Diego to Malibu so I could have my inspection done in time. He is very professional. He explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. Bill is extremely knowledgeable about mold. I have a lot more knowledge now about mold than I did before talking with Bill.

I had to have the samples expedited because of the timeframe of our contingencies. Bill promised they would be done in time and they were. The results of the testing were not good and he saved us a ton of money - we cancelled our escrow. If we had not known what existed in this home, it would have cost us at least a hundred thousand dollars to fix, probably more. Plus, more importantly, our family would have been living in a hazardous environment. I can't recommend Advanced Mold Inspections enough. In a world where companies say they'll get the job done, make promises they don't keep and are unprofessional, Bill and his company gave me hope that there are good, honest people who run good, honest companies. I would recommend him/his company to anyone who was looking for a mold inspection company.

Spending the money on a mold inspection is worth it's weight in gold. It will also give you piece of mind that what you're buying is safe to live in - for you and your family.

Thank you Bill!
Debbie L., Malibu, CA

I wanted to thank you again for your work and tell you what I valued as your client.

I really appreciated the way you spoke and interacted with me like a friend instead of a haughty businessman. I appreciated your "down to earth" personality. Just real people talking about real stuff.

Sincerely,
J. Augustine D.C., Cerritos, CA

Dear AMI,
I really appreciate the clear and informative way that you conduct your business. It was a pleasure to meet you and to deal with you. I will hold on to your card and will gladly refer anyone in need of an inspection.

Happy New Year!
